01-19-07   Well, my friends, I have fixed the Demo Reel Page. I also just arrived from the sunny state of Ohio, which surprisingly was... sunny. We did have some snow and clouds but for the most part it wasn't too bad. I was able to get some quality family time in there before my return to Texas and my beloved computer. I started thumbnailing a new test animation and I am pretty excited about it. Please email me with any comments and especially critiques.

01-06-07   Woohoo!!! New Demo Reel posted. I have added the finished version of my most recent animation test as well as an older traditional test I recently got a hold of finally. Please email me with any comments and especially critiques.

11-14-06   An update to the Animation Test I have been working on has been posted on the Portfolio page. Thanksgiving is soon approaching and I am ready for my visit back home. This has been the longest stint I have ever been away from home. Luckily everyone down here has done everything they could to make me feel at home as possible and I am getting ever more comfortable. Work has been crazy and really consuming. It has taken an extra effort to make sure that I keep putting out animation. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Ohio, here I come!!!

11-13-06   HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA!!!

11-08-06   Update to the Animation Section on the Portfolio page. Have I ever told you how nice Autumn in Houston is? Well, very. The Summers may be a little toasty, but the Fall has proven Houston to have beautiful weather from time to time. The only thing missing now are some warm hues on the leaves. Nothing like driving home with your sunglasses on in November.

10-30-06   Added some new Character Designs on the Portfolio page. Some in their own sections and four new in the Sketchbook section. Please email me with any comments. It would be awesome to hear what you have to say. Trying to work out a different style of construction with these drawings. Much more about drawing with mass and movement and less about fine precision line work. I really like the freedom of it all.

10-07-06   Posted an old "Traditional Test" I did a long while ago. Thanks to Anna's dad for the use of his video equipment.
I also went out last night with some friends from Dallas who were in town for the weekend. We saw Klein Forest, Anna's Dad's drama class' production of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown". Good times. There were some really nice sequences in there. Everyone on stage looked like they really enjoyed the performance. And the kids ate it up. I kinda wish I would have got into drama in High School. I still think it would be fun to do even now. A great way to work on my acting. Maybe if a part opens up on the next production...

10-06-06   Threw up some new sketches on the portfolio page. A couple new Monterey's and a series of a new character Poindexter, inspired by the bedtime stories Anna's mother told her as a kiddy. Today and part of yesterday after work was spent doing some acting reference to work with for the "camper animation".

10-02-06   Another update to the WIP. Little Mermaid comes out on DVD tomorrow. Think I am going to use the discount and pick up a copy. It's been a while my scaley friend of the fishes.

09-29-06   Alright!!! Here we go. You are reading the words of Borders Employee of the Month for September of 06. After only a month and a half, that's right, I have been designated by my general manager, to be the best employee for the month of Sept. Hehe. All the while trying to be the more important thing on the menu, an character animator.

Besides that, I have reposed and extended the beginning of my most recent WIP. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to really get some time in on this piece and get some more work on the Demo.

09-22-06   Well, much of the same old going on here. I bought a copy of Henry Selick's children's picture book "Moongirl" which is also packaged with the award-winning short from Laika and directed by the author. Instead of pushing into another animation, after a few days away from my most recent test, I have decided to go back and rework the beginning. I know it can be srtonger and the posing is kinda weak. This also gives me more time to plan out my next test on my lunch breaks.
I have been working on a crocodile named Poindexter, an oafish character with a relentless curiosity, inspired by Anna's mom's bedtime stories she told the girls when they were tots. He is coming along, I am trying to stick to the same style as the Monkey that I have also been working on named Monterey.

On a more solemn note Liz's father past away yesterday after a heart attack. Email me if you would like the contact and funeral home information. He will be dearly missed.

09-11-06   A big hoo-rah goes out to my man Joe who got a job at Laika just a few hours ago. Go Joe!!! And I don't mean GI Joe, I mean Joe Beckley, the man with the plan. That makes two good guys up there now, Mike Altman, my old Professor from CCAD has been up there for a few weeks now.
Annnd, another hoo-rah to my buddy Dale Clark who just got a job out in San Diego doing top secret agent stuff with one's and zero's.
These two put in a lot of hard work and determination. Alright!!!

09-010-06   Whew, long weekend at work, did inventory. Now back to the important stuff, blocking and sketching my next animation.

09-07-06   After some major re-vamping, the camper animation is moving right along. I feel like the acting is better than my previous animation and a little more fluid. There is always room for improvement though!!! I am really looking forward to my next animation which I starting to work out. Definitely an animation with more subtlety to it, more thinking.
Also, if you are an animation fan and you haven't heard of the Animation Podcast, check it out, it's freakin sweet. There is more information on the site.

08-23-06   I have been working on another animation this week to a sound clip from the movie "That Thing You Do". I has been going pretty well, from this point I am going back to take out some of the "Key Poses", it was just too busy.

08-17-06   Did a little revamping of the site. What do you think?

07-31-06   Everything has been going just swimmingly here in Houston. I have been working on some new animations one of which has been completed for the time being, as nothing is ever quite finished in my opinion. The creative drive has been in full swing and I am excited to show some new work. Joe has made it safe and sound in L.A. and it sounds as if things are moving right along. Check out his new site on the right. Demo reel - with Ant Bully material, as well as Fox and the Hound 2 and Aristocats 2 work. Looks Great!

07-30-06   I got a chance to see The Ant Bully yesterday! Go Joe Beckley and Mike Altman! Really enjoyed the film. It's nice to see some friends' work on the silver screen. Support the cause, see it soon!

03-13-06   I have changed a few things on the site as far as design choices. I have gone with a more reader friendly font color. I felt that the white was a little too intense. I also changed the logo and button highlight colors. watch for some new work to be posted in the coming weeks. maybe a new organization for the front page if time allows. I am also finishing up a new intro to the demo reel.
